Welcome to another Featured Artist Friday!

This week we have some great tunes lined up for all of our Featured Artist Friday fans.  To kick things off right, we're going back to 1975 for a C.W. McCall hit called "Wolf Creek Pass".  This song was written by McCall (who's real name is William Dale Fries, Jr.) and Chip Davis after McCall's involvement in a successful ad campaign which featured a fictional truck driver named C.W. McCall and a waitress named Mavis Davis.  It peaked at #12 on the Billboard Country Chart and led to many more hits for McCall.  Our next song for this week is a Lyle Lovett tune from 1989 entitled "I Married Her Just Because She Looks Like You".  Found on the Lyle Lovett and His Large Band record, this one only peaked at #45 on the Country Chart, but nonetheless has become a fan favorite over the years.  We will also be adding in a great Junior Brown song, "My Wife Thinks You're Dead".  Peaking at #68 on the Country Chart, this song is criminally underrated - like much of Junior Brown's music!

To recap for the week:

  • "Wolf Creek Pass" - C.W. McCall
  • "I Married Her Just Because She Looks Like You" - Lyle Lovett
  • "My Wife Thinks You're Dead" - Junior Brown
Every Friday, we will be adding a few new songs to the KBEC rotation.  You can hear our choices for the week on the Afternoon Drive.  If you have any comments or suggestions on who we should or shouldn't add, feel free to drop us an e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
