We’ve got another wild Featured Artist Friday for you this week!

 

It’s another request week at KBEC 1390 - all songs we are adding into the KBEC archive were all requested by fans of The Mike Roberts Show.  We figure our listeners know what kind of music they like better than we do – and, heck, they seem to have pretty good taste, too!  First up is and oldie-but-a-goodie, “Polk Salad Annie” by Tony Joe White.  This song hit #8 on the Billboard Top 100 in 1969.  Next, we have something a little more contemporary with Luke Bryan’s #1 country single, “I Don’t Want This Night to End”.  This tune can be found on Bryan’s #1 country album from last year, Tailgates & Tanlines.  Wrapping things up is a little something that proves that a track doesn’t have to chart well to be remembered well: Tom T. Hall’s “Sneaky Snake”.  Released as a B-Side in 1974, peaking at #69, this song has certainly held up as well as any of Hall’s #1 hits.
