It's all about that Texas gulf coast!

Our playlist for the week is:

  2. Meet Me in Corpus / Larry Joe Taylor
  3. Livin' on Key West Time / Howard Livingston
  4. Key West Habit / Loren Davidson
  5. Hot Tub Junkie / Don Middlebrook (featuring Dennie Middleton)
  6. Parrothead Rehab / Mike Broward
  7. Toes / Zac Brown Band
  8. Guitars and Tiki Bars / Kenny Chesney
  9. Livingston's Gone to Texas / Jimmy Buffett
  10. July in the Hill Country / Kylie Rae Harris
  11. Matagorda Bay / Josh Abbott Band
  12. My Kind of Day on Padre / Gary P. Nunn

We'll be beginning this week's show with one of the best known artists from Texas, George Strait.  "Stars on the Water" was originally a Rodney Crowell song from 1981, but this version was on Strait's 2001 The Road Less Traveled album.

Next we have Larry Joe Taylor's "Meet Me in Corpus".  Check out his Coastal and Western CD for more of that Stephenville greatness!

"Livin' on Key West Time" is a song we're happy to get to play from time to time.  We found it on the Howard Livingston and the Mile Marker 24 Band album Livin' on Key West Time.

Loren Davidson is an artist we've only seen once before on our show.  Let us know what you think about his "Key West Habit" from the 2005 Tropical Troubadours CD!

"Hot Tub Junkie" is a Don Middlebrook song featuring West Michigan's piano man, Dennie Middleton.  This great track is on Middlebrook's latest record, Talespin.

"Parrothead Rehab" is the title track of Mike Broward's debut album.  Mike is currently touring across the American southeast!  We wonder if we can get him out to Texas...

One of our favorite songs by the Zac Brown Band is, as many of our listeners know by now, "Toes" from The Foundation.  Judging by how often it gets requested, it's a fan favorite too!

Kenny Chesney, one of country music's shining stars, included "Guitars and Tiki Bars" on his 2005 Be as You Are CD!

Here's a great song that only true Parrotheads remember: "Livingston's Gone to Texas".  From the nearly lost High Cumberland Jubilee record, this song is an early Jimmy Buffett song that almost got forgotten - but not by us!

Kylie Ray Harris is an up-and-coming musician from Dallas.  We thought we'd introduce her to the show with "July in the Hill Country" so our listeners can see why we thought she'd be a good addition.

"Matagorda Bay" is a new song from the Josh Abbott Band.  It comes from their newest album, Small Town Family Dream.

It's never inappropriate to end our show with one of our favorite Texas musicians, Gary P. Nunn.  It's on his What I Like About Texas record.

That's the show for the week!  We have a special two-hour program coming up to celebrate July 4th, so be sure to tune into that next week.  See you then!
