This week, we are officially adding some of our most requested songs to the KBEC line up!

If you're a regular KBEC listener (especially if you're a fan of the Afternoon Drive with Mike Roberts), you've most likely heard the songs we're adding this week.  Everything we're adding has been played by request many, many times - so many times that we thought, "why not officially add them to the rotation?".  So we are!  We've got four songs from three great artists lined up for you:

  • "Pretty Good at Drinking Beer" - Billy Currington
  • "Motorcycle Cowboy" - Merle Haggard
  • "The Day I Started Loving You Again" - Merle Haggard
  • "Why Don't We Just Dance" - Josh Turner

Billy Currington has had 6 #1 US Country singles, including "Pretty Good at Drinking Beer" from his 2010 Enjoy Yourself album.  The song was penned by Troy Jones.  Merle Haggard, for the two people who aren't familiar with him, is a country music titan known as one of the original creators of the "Bakersfield Sound".  Josh Turner has an impressive 4 #1 hits to his name, with our featured song this week coming from his 2010 Haywire album.

Every Friday, we will be adding a few new songs to the KBEC rotation.  You can hear our choices for the week on the Afternoon Drive.  If you have any comments or suggestions on who we should or shouldn't add, feel free to drop us an e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
