This week we will be adding some music from one of our favorite Texas musicians: Kevin Fowler!

Fowler was born and raised in Amarillo.  He played guitar on Austin's famous Sixth Street for a rock band called Dangerous Toys in the 1990s and then left to form his own southern rock band called Thunderfoot.  By 2000, Fowler had migrated to a more country sound and released his debut album Beer, Bait, and Ammo, which sold over 30,000 albums in Texas alone.  He charted nationally in 2002 with his next album, High on the Hog, and broke into the Billboard Top 200 with his 2004 album Loose, Loud, & Crazy.  He has released two more studio albums since, Bring It On in 2007 and Chippin' Away in 2011.  Our featured songs this week will be:

  • "Beer, Bait, and Ammo"
  • "Hard Man to Love"
  • "Don't Touch My Willie"
  • "Senorita Mas Fina"
  • "Lord Loves a Drinking Man"
  • "Speak of the Devil"

If you want to read more about Kevin Fowler, here is the short biography we put together for him when he was featured on Jon Garrett's Live In Texas back in January.  You can also visit his webpage here.

Every Friday, we will be adding a few new songs to the KBEC rotation.  You can hear our choices for the week on the Afternoon Drive with Mike Roberts.  If you have any comments or suggestions on who we should or shouldn't add, feel free to drop us an e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
