Do you have a green thumb? Or do you just want to know more about lawn and garden care?

If so, the Ellis County Master Gardener Association has some great news for you! The 12th annual Lawn and Garden Expo is coming back to Waxahachie this year.  More than 100 booths, guest speakers, and other activities will give you and your family all the information you need to keep growing smart.

The 12th annual Lawn and Garden Expo will take place at the Waxahachie Civic Center, located at 2000 Civic Center LN, on March 31st from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Adult tickets cost $5 per person. Children under 12 may get in for free. Free tickets are also available through the expo’s participating sponsors. A list of those sponsors is available at

Guest speakers will talk throughout the day.   Master Gardeners will sell discounted plants.  Children will make their own gardens in workshops. And adults can learn about cooking with herbs from the Master Gardeners themselves. Specialists at the information booth will happily answer any plant lover’s horticultural questions. And, of course, there will be lots of door prizes!

One of the primary missions of the Ellis County Master Gardeners is to build partnerships with the Ellis County community to expand horticultural education and opportunities.  In keeping with this mission, funds from the Lawn and Garden expo will benefit the Master Gardeners’ scholarship fund.  Every year, the Master Gardeners grant money to deserving Ellis County high school seniors who are pursuing a career in horticulture or agriculture.  The Master Gardener Association thanks all of its sponsors to make this scholarship possible.
