One of our favorite artists, Jerry Jeff Walker knows what's up when he sings about "Northeast Texas Women".  This version of the song is from a compilation album, The Very Best of Jerry Jeff Walker II.  You can read a little bit more about Jerry Jeff here.

The title track of their debut album, Howard Livingston and the Mile Marker 24 Band released this song in 2005.  You can find some biographical information about Howard on our website.

This is the first time we have featured Cooder Graw and their unique West Texas musical talents.  Their 2000 album Segundo produced their first Top 10 Texas hit, "Willie's Guitar".  This version of the song is actually from their Shifting Gears CD, which was released in 2001.

"The Great Bicycle Disaster"  is from Kelly McGuire's award winning Boat In Belize album.  We've heard a rumor that Kelly McGuire is thinking of playing at the Texas Theater in Waxahachie with Tommy Alverson and Larry Joe Taylor on March 24th - what a show that would be!  We wrote a little about Kelly ourselves here.

"Backroads of Texas" is this Muenster, TX, band's tribute to the Gulf Coast Cowboy's way of life!

"Fruitcakes" is the title track of the 19th studio album from the Trop Rock King himself.  Released in 1994, it came after a 5 year hiatus following the previous album, Off to See the Lizard.

Our featured artist for the 2012 New Year, Tommy Alverson hails from Arlington, TX.  He will be visiting the Texas Theater in March and will be part of the Gulf Coast Cowboy repertoire for years to come.  You can check out our article about him right here.

Barstools and Beachchairs is where you can find this Jim Morris tune.  Morris has been a Gulf Coast featured artist as well!

Making this his back-to-back appearance on the Gulf Coast Cowboy Hour, tonight we feature Roger Creager's "Long Way to Mexico" from his Live in Texas CD.  Creager released his first album in 1998 and has been a featured artist on our website in the past.  Creager currently lives in Katy, TX.

Darvin James is known for his unique voice which has been compared to a cross between John Hammond, Jr., and Waylon Jennings.  This week we feature his song, "N'Awalins Nights".

Two of the world's greatest bluesmen give us this song, "Ride the River", from their The Road to Escondinio CD.
